As part of an investment programme Pladrest have recently supplied a number of ovens to a composites manufacturing company based in Banbury who supply composite components to the aerospace, nuclear and automotive industries.

The equipment is for use in composites manufacturing and includes a Drawer Type Oven, a Batch Oven and a Pre-heating Oven.

The Drawer Oven is electrically heated with hot air re-circulation and high velocity cross flow air to ensure temperature uniformity. The oven is fitted with 2 ‘drawers’ for loading the components. Controls include a programmable temperature controller with RS232 connection on the panel to configure the controller through a lap top.

The Batch Oven is electrically heated, hot air re-circulating with programmable temperature control, motorised dampers on the air inlet and outlet spigots to control cooling and is supplied with component trolleys. A cross flow air design ensures temperature uniformity.

CTG supplied an old oven for Pladrest to modify to be used for pre-heating components. The oven was completely refurbished and fitted with two way operation component drawers to enable loading from the front or back of the oven. Controls include programmable temperature controller, cycle timers for each drawer level and door raise and lower controls.

The most recent investment has extended the range of ovens to a specially designed batch oven with mandrel rotation facility and top loading chest ovens also with product rotation facility, used for larger components.
