Pilkington Plyglass

This plant was designed and manufactured for curing of various coatings on glass pieces up to a maximum size of 2100 mm wide x 4000 mm long.

The oven is comprised of a series of infra red zones arranged across the full width and length of the oven. A heater battery and air re-circulation fan provides hot air which is re-circulated inside the oven chamber. A free standing continuous moving conveyor is fitted through the oven.

The hot air runs continuously and the infrared heaters switch on as glass approaches and switch off when the oven is clear. Sensors are used to determine that glass size and switch the required number of emitters to suit the glass size. The oven is controlled by use of an HMI console, which is located at the load end of the conveyor.
