Dolgarrog Aluminium Limited in North Wales have commissioned ladrest Heating to manufacture two high temperature air re-circulating batch ovens for heat treatment of aluminium plate. The ovens are for processing aluminium to be used in Aerospace applications and therefore the ovens have to achieve a guaranteed temperature uniformity of ± 3șC anywhere in the oven.
The first of the ovens has been installed and independently heat profiled and is now in production. The ovens are electrically heated and operate up to a temperature of 600șC with a maximum load of up to 5 tonnes. The ovens have been designed for ease of loading and unloading and features include vertical lift door and chart recorder for data acquisition at four points in each oven.
