This oven was designed and manufactured by Pladrest Heating Limited, to pre-heat carpet prior to application of the backing material.

Following trials at our works with samples provided by the customer the oven

Design was established to enable the carpet to be ‘pre-shrunk’ by heating to a temperature of around 80°C prior to application of the bitumen backing material.

This method of ‘pre-shrinking’ eliminates the shrinking of individual carpet tiles, which can occur after they are cut to size.

The tunnel oven is heated by a thermic oil heat exchanger with high volume air re-circulating fans.

As the tunnel oven was required to integrate into the process it was sited above ground level and was manufactured in sections to bolt together on site with the control panel mounted locally to the existing controls.
